More on this film: Here is a production still of my set. Everything was made entirely out of cardboard or paper, except the table cloth. If you can see, there are tiny little dots on the puppets where an eye should go. I used After Effects motion tracking to parent Flash animation to their faces.


I saw this technique used in Joel Trussell's "Mr. Wobble's Nightmare" which I LOVED. Obviously you can see the influence!

That and Rob Schrab's "Ringwald and Molly" series really inspired me, with the economy of production, but funny and simple characters. It's amazing what you can do with such simple materials.

The story is part entirely made-up, part personal, I suppose. My family is Jewish, and my mother was adopted, and I am half-Japanese. I am the weird "half-meat-half-fruit baby".
